Outraged that there are still decent people living in the United States who believe that ripping apart unborn babies limb-from-limb in the name of “women’s reproductive rights” constitutes unjustifiable murder, streaming entertainment giant Netflix, an admittedly Leftist corporation, has threatened to pull all film and television productions from the state of Georgia.
As you probably already know, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp recently signed into law one of those Democrat-dreaded “heartbeat” bills, which protects unborn human life from being terminated as if it was just a blob of “unwanted cells” after six weeks of gestation, this being right around the time when a heartbeat is first able to be detected. Both Hollywood and Netflix have responded to the signing of this law with threats to stop filming in Georgia, which has largely become the “Hollywood of the East Coast” in recent years.
However, at the very same time, Netflix recently announced that it is proudly expanding its production operations in Egypt, of all places, where abortion is completely illegal at any point during pregnancy – and where women can actually go to jail, or worse, for getting one.
It’s right up there at the pinnacle of Leftist virtue signaling hypocrisy: the idea that it’s somehow appropriate for Netflix to retaliate against Georgia for trying to protect unborn human life, while simultaneously working to expand its operations in an African country known for having much stricter abortion laws than anywhere in the United States.
Perhaps this duplicity stems from Netflix and Hollywood’s hatred for all things American? After all, the “progressive” Left just loves things like Muslim women having to wear hijabs, which are symbols of oppression and inequality that have somehow been popularized as being “cool” and “trendy” among Democrats, presumably because they’re foreign and mysterious.
Or perhaps it’s more because the Leftists in charge at Netflix simply hate Christianity, the bedrock of our nation’s founding – that is, before Leftist ideologies began to spread like a deadly virus in education and media. This would seem to make the most sense, seeing as how Christians are widely persecuted throughout Egypt – and in some cases murdered for their faith.
It’s no wonder, then, that Netflix is “excited” about the opportunity to “continue our investment in Middle Eastern productions” – because it’s less about the issue of abortion, it turns out, and more about funneling cash into Christ-hating countries around the world.
In light of all this, Christians with Netflix subscriptions, not to mention Christians who still eagerly head out to see all of the latest Hollywood flicks, really need to think long and hard about where they’re spending their hard-earned cash, and what they’re supporting in the process.
While Christian persecution is admittedly escalating all around the world, including here in the United States, it’s especially bad in some of the places where Netflix and Hollywood are using your money to expand and presumably produce even more anti-Christ entertainment.
“The Christian answer is simple,” writes one Zero Hedge commenter. “If 10% (of Christians) cancelled (their Netflix subscriptions) for 3 months, that would impact them to the tune of 200 million” dollars.
“This would get their attention,” this same commenter adds. “It’s easy to do. I did it 2 years ago, and they will welcome you back if you must. Surely, (it’s) a small loss compared to a baby’s life.”
